Coroner ID’s Man Killed In Crash On Airport Road

A man who died in a crash on Airport Road on Friday has been identified by the Coroners Office as 90-year-old James Robert Jones of Redding. He was a passenger in a Cadillac that was northbound on Airport Road when it crossed into the opposing lane as the driver was trying to turn into the Kent’s Meats parking lot. A southbound PG&E pickup truck smashed into the passenger side of the Cadillac, killing Jones. There were no other injuries. Airport Road was closed for several hours while Redding Police investigated.
