Coroner ID’s Skeletal Remains Of Man Reported Missing In 2012

After more than a decade the remains of a missing man have been identified. The skeletal remains were found off Henderson Road in Redding on May 19th. After DNA analysis the Coroners Office says it was the body of Courtney Nathan Jones-Botta. He was 23-years-old when he was reported missing by his mother on August 16th of 2012. He called her for a ride from a location on Joaquin Avenue off Bechelli Lane, but when she arrived about 20 minutes later he was gone. Extensive searches were done and RPD Investigators followed dozens of leads as they interviewed more than 60 people but nothing ever panned out, despite a $9,000 reward. Detectives will continue to investigate the circumstances that led to Jones-Botta’s death.
