Coroner IDs Victim of Downtown Redding Knife Attack

A woman who died after being stabbed this week at a downtown Redding motel has been identified by the Coroners Office as 57-year-old Donna Kathleen Ceremony. She was one of four people allegedly stabbed Tuesday by 31-year-old Christopher Jordan Witcher during a meeting at the Market Street Manor, a former motel that now serves as transitional housing with residential substance abuse counseling. Ceremony died, one of the men suffered major trauma to his face and another man has significant stab wounds in his torso. Both underwent emergency surgery. The other man’s wounds were not as serious. Witcher had been staying at the facility for two weeks. He was released from prison in Colorado earlier this year after serving time for stabbing someone. He’s being held without bail.
