A Cottonwood man was arrested twice in a span of three days, according to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office. 51-year-old Ryan Montgomery as pulled over on January 3rd in Cottonwood for a vehicle violation. Deputies searched the vehicle and reportedly found 2 loaded handguns, prescription narcotics, and $8000 in cash. Montgomery was arrested and booked into the Shasta County Jail on a number of charges including being a felon in possession of gun. Montgomery posted his bail and was released the same day. Later in the day deputies searched Montgomery’s residence on Pleasant Court where more narcotics were reportedly found along with ammunition, Cannabis, and items associated with drug sales. A day later, deputies spotted Montgomery driving the same vehicle and he was again pulled over for a vehicle violation. During a search, 10 ounces of Meth was reportedly found, more prescription narcotics, and $1000 in cash. He was again booked into the Shasta County Jail. As of Monday morning Montgomery was not listed as an inmate at the Shasta County Jail.
