Crews Battle New Fires Sparked Over The Labor Day Weekend

Many fires are burning around the North State. Most of them have either full containment or no containment at all.

The Tracy Fire started Monday afternoon off Tracy Ann Lane and the north end of Rancho Estates Road in Cottonwood. Forward progress was stopped at around 18 acres.

The Springs Fire southeast of Manton off Ponderosa Way started early Monday morning. A little over 30 acres has burned. The fire is 40% contained, but forward progress was stopped at around Noon Monday.

The Dillon Fire off Highway 96 south of Cottage Grove is 7,700 acres and 7% contained.

The Blue Fire northwest of Blue Mountain south of Seiad Valley is 1,375 acres and has forced a closure of the Pacific Crest Trail.

The Peak Fire north of Granite Peak southwest of Trinity Center is 488 acres and 5% contained.

The Lick Fire northwest of Trinity Center is 37 acres.

The Log Fire northwest of Sawyers Bar is 388 acres.

Around 350 acres of heavy timber and brush has burned in the Root Fire a few miles west of Castle Crags.

Good progress has been made on a fire west of Trinity Mountain Road north of French Gulch. The 5-4 Fire is 80% contained at 37 acres.
