Crews Contain Escaped Debris Burn To 6 Acres In Palo Cedro

A vegetation fire burned south of Palo Cedro Monday morning. Firefighters were called at 10:45AM to Los Altos Drive off Deschutes Road north of Dersch. The first arriving crews reported 2 acres with a slow rate of spread but the wind picked up and it quickly grew to 6 acres. Forward progress was stopped at around 11:30AM. The fire had started from an un-permitted debris burn.

On Tuesday Forest Service Crews at Mount Shasta plan to ignite a 275 acre burn one mile west of McBride Springs Campground just south of Everitt Memorial Highway.
