Cal-Fire made an aggressive attack on a vegetation fire in the Palo Cedro area Monday afternoon. Just after 2 O’clock the first arriving engine companies on Shadow Hills Lane off Quail Valley Drive reported trees and brush burning with a moderate rate of spread. With help from a water dropping helicopter, hand crews and dozers, the fire was held to 2 acres.
Another fire started around 10:30AM near Gas Point Road and West Ho Trail. It burned about a quarter acre of grass before it was contained.
