Crews Continue To Patrol For Smokes As Park Fire Remains 99% Contained

The Park Fire is still 99% contained after burning 429,603 acres and 709 structures in Butte and Tehama Counties. Fire activity is virtually non-existent and a few remaining crews are patrolling for smokes. Most of the effort is now going toward repairing damage done during fire suppression to protect downstream water quality and prevent erosion. A closure order remains in effect for parts of the Lassen National Forest. Anyone traveling in the fire zone should be aware of equipment moving around, particularly in the Highway 36 area. 470 personnel remain on scene.

The Boise Fire near Orleans in Humboldt County has grown a little, now at 12,967 acres with 91% containment. A number of evacuation warnings are still in effect, but only one zone is still under evacuation orders.

A little to the southwest of the Boise Fire is the Mill Creek 4 Fire. It started Saturday and has burned 15 acres with 50% containment

A fire Sunday morning burned a 10,000 square foot structure northwest of Mount Shasta City near Deetz Road and Summit Drive. It spread to about a half acre of vegetation.
