Officers with the Community Work Program wrapped up 2024 by responding to illegal encampments throughout the city for clean-up. With assistance of offenders from the Shasta County Alternative Custody Program, areas on Hartnell Avenue, Cypress Avenue, Bechelli Lane, Oregon Street, the Nur Pon Open Space, and the Benton Airpark were targeted. Over 742,000 pounds of garbage were removed.
