Crews Reach 65% Containment On The Shoe Fire

The Shoe Fire is in mop-up stage stage as crews are continuing to patrol for flare ups. Some areas are still smoldering but the fire is not expected to move beyond control lines. The fire is now 65% contained after burning 5,127 acres. It started October 9th on the north side of Lake Shasta 12 miles southwest of Big Bend. All evacuation orders have been lifted, however a forest closure for the area remains in effect. The Forest Service says the fire was human caused. There are 767 personnel still on scene.
