A lot of money was raised over the weekend in a fundraiser for One Safe Place, to support Shasta County’s domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. “Dancing with the Shasta Stars” took place Saturday night at the Cascade Theater, pairing notable community members with professional dancers. McConnell Foundation board member and Shasta College instructor Eva Jimenez won the Mirror Ball Trophy and the People’s Choice Award, and she was also fundraising champion. Dr. Jesse Curran, co-owner of Prestige Urgent Care and Juniper Healthcare, won the Judge’s Choice Award. The event raised more than $184,000 for One Safe Place to further their mission.
