DA’s Office Gathers Over 180 Pairs During Denim Drive

The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office had another successful denim drive. Wednesday was “Denim Day” and for the past few weeks jeans were being collected to donate to survivors of sexual violence through “One Safe Place”, Shasta County’s domestic violence shelter. The jeans drive is done annually to bring attention to a notorious Italian Supreme Court case in which the justices ruled that a rape victim must have helped her assailant undress her because her pants were so tight. The DA’s Office took in a total of 188 pairs of denim jeans, including 113 pairs donated by Redding Rancheria.
