A dead body that was found off the Sacramento River Trail has been confirmed to be missing Redding man Daniel Wesley Baker. The 44-year-old man, who went by the name “Marv Ellis”, had been reported missing by his mother, who said he looked upset when he left home September 13th. On September 26th a decomposing body was found in a wooded area near the Ribbon Bridge, and Baker’s sister reported that the body was her brother. The Coroners Office has now confirmed that. The cause of death has still not been determined. Baker, or “Ellis”, had been praised by some people as a positive figure who was known for feeding homeless people.
