Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies made an extra effort to save a dog from the bank of the Sacramento River. The dog was on a narrow beach on the edge of the river at the base of a steep cliff that he could not climb. He was spotted by a boater Tuesday but he was afraid and refused to be captured. Dispatchers found the owner through a Facebook post and deputies took the owner on their boat to retrieve the dog.
