Deputies Issues Shelter In Place Order After Man Reportedly Shoots Sheriff’s Drone Out Of The Sky

Residents near the cross of Dersch Road and Highway 44 were told to shelter in place Thursday as Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies searched for a suspect. 39-year-old Anthony Lynne Esquaville is a resident of Colley Lane, about a half mile south of Highway 44. An arrest warrant was going to be served and Esquaville had apparently been under surveillance until a sheriff’s department drone was shot out of the sky shortly after 9AM, allegedly by Esquaville. A Code Red was sent to area residents and deputies ordered Dersch Road closed from the highway to Ash Creek Road as the SWAT Team responded. The closure was lifted at around 1:30PM, but Esquavile remains at large and he’s considered armed and dangerous. He’s a white man, 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds with brown hair, bald on top, and hazel eyes. His photo is on the KQMS Facebook Page.
