Deputies Seize Over 1,000 Pounds Of Cannabis During Traffic Stop In Siskiyou County

Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Detectives made a huge Cannabis seizure last week. On February 8th a resident of the Mount Shasta Vista area called to report seeing cargo trucks for most of the day moving in and out of an area known for illegal Cannabis cultivation. A deputy investigating in the area saw a box truck with expired registration turning onto the A-12 road. The deputy stopped the truck and could smell Cannabis. He asked the driver and passenger if they were carrying Pot and they said they worked for Delta 9 THC, a licensed dispensary in Southern California, and they were carrying 400 Pounds of product. A search revealed more than 1,000 Pounds of processed Cannabis bud, along with a device to measure THC content and a backpack containing $35,000. The driver was cited for possession of Cannabis for sale.
