Dignity Health Reaches Labor Agreement With Union Representing North State Workers

The hospital group that owns Mercy Medical Center has come up with a contract for 18,000 of its workers at more than 40 Dignity Health facilities, including Mercy Redding, Mercy Mount Shasta, and Red Bluff’s St. Elizabeth Hospital. The agreement SEIU-UHW raises wages by 18% over four years and increases the minimum wage for the hospital system to $21 an hour. Some employees of Mercy Redding say that at the same time, dozens of unrepresented employees have just been laid off from the hospital and from Connected Living Senior Services.
