Dispute Over Motorcycle Leaves One Man With A Gunshot Wound

A Red Bluff man was left with a single gunshot wound to his upper body following a dispute apparently over a missing motorcycle on Saturday morning. At about 9AM police received multiple reports of shots being fired in the 1400 block of 4th Street in Red Bluff. The suspected shooter, 59-year-old Thomas Portfield was still on scene when officers arrived. He apparently discarded the firearm and surrendered to officers. The 57-year-old victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. One Revolver and and AK style assault rifle were seized as evidence. Portfield was booked into Tehama County Jail for attempted murder.
