Downtown Redding Shooting Suspects Appear In Court

A preliminary hearing has been held for two brothers accused in a shooting that injured five people inside a Downtown Redding brewpub on June 8th. Redding Police responding to Cedar Crest Brewery on Placer Street saw two men running from the scene, and 22-year-old Zeth Turnbaugh was quickly captured. With help from a CHP helicopter an extensive search was done and 23-year-old Thor Turnbaugh, who was allegedly the shooter, was found near Locust Avenue and Canal Drive. Detectives say Thor and Zeth had gotten into a fight with other patrons at Cedar Crest, during which Thor pulled a gun from his waistband and fired a round, then pointed the gun at several people as the two left the bar. He then allegedly fired multiple rounds from the outside. A bar employee suffered a grazing bullet wound to his leg and four customers were struck by broken glass or shrapnel. All the injuries were minor. Zeth was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and has been released from jail, but Thor faces a long list of charges, including attempted murder, shooting into an occupied building, 8 counts of assault with a gun and more. His bail is set at more than $1.1 Million.
