A man was chased by Redding Police Wednesday night after reportedly trying to intentionally run over a pedestrian. The report was made just before 10PM by someone walking near Twin Tower Drive and Collyer Drive. A license plate number was provided, which returned to a stolen Chevy SUV. RPD Officers spotted the Chevy and tried to stop it, but a chase ensued for about 10 miles with CHP Air Ops assisting. As the pursuit was going along Creek Trail off Bear Mountain Road, the vehicle suddenly went down an embankment and the three occupants ran away. The helicopter crew kept an eye on the driver as Redding Police searched the wrecked vehicle and found ammunition. 32-year-old Andrew Noland was found hiding in some tall brush and he was taken into custody. The two passengers got away.
