A Cottonwood man has entered a no contest plea to charges from a very brief pursuit in July. An officer tried to stop a Chevy Equinox on Sundial Bridge Drive for a lighting violation, but the driver, 23-year-old Nathan Barron Knox, fled the wrong way onto the Eastbound Highway 44 offramp but crashed into the center median wall within 6 seconds. Knox was drunk and had a handgun on him. He was uninjured but two teenage passengers were hurt, one of them suffering major injuries. About an hour and a half earlier, the same vehicle had apparently fled from Anderson Police. Knox will be sentenced September 13th.
