After being delayed several times, maintenance work is almost set to begin for the bridge over Cow Creek on Highway 44 east of Palo Cedro. The new start date is next Monday the 10th. When work begins, 24 hour one-way traffic control will be in effect with 15 minute delays. The eastbound onramp from Deschutes Road onto Highway 44 will be closed throughout the project. The Cow Creek Bridge is one of 13 bridges and overcrossings being overhauled in Tehama and Shasta Counties in a project that began last year.
