Eddie McAllister Recognized For Efforts To Promote Social Justice

A local man who has spent decades working for social justice has been recognized nationally. Eddie McAllister is well known in Redding for his founding of the Shasta Beloved Community and his involvement in Shasta County Citizens Advocating Respect and other organizations. On a personal level, McAllister is known for his compassion as he makes a genuine effort to connect with people in order to understand their needs. The Shasta Equal Justice Coalition has announced that McAllister has been given the National Education Association’s “Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Award”. The NEA calls him a “True pillar of justice”.
