The Shasta County Supervisor Kevin Crye recall is nearly defeated. The Elections Department released new numbers on Friday, saying there are still 800 ballots that have not been processed. District One would represent about a fifth of those ballots, and the recall attempt is trailing by 48 votes. Allen Long, with 50.21%, is in a 45 vote lead to avoid a runoff in the 4 way race for District 2. In District 3 Mary Rickert took over 40% and will face Corkey Harmon in November. The 40 to 60% loss by Patrick Jones to Matt Plummer in District 4 was the widest defeat in the primary.
