Two more department heads have announced their retirement in Shasta County. After 28 years with the county department of public works Al Cathey says his last day on the job will be Friday. County Counsel James Ross, who was appointed to the job just four months ago, who said he would leave the post on August 11th, sent an email to supervisors on Monday saying that would be his last day. According to reports, Supervisors Patrick Jones, and Kevin Crye had asked for him to leave immediately, rather than at the end of the day. The newest departures bring the number of department heads or executives who have quit, retired, or been fired, to more than 10 in the last year and a half.
