Expect Delays On Highway 44 As Crews Repair Overcrossing Damaged By Tall Load

Tall loads beware. Cal-Trans crews working at night are repairing the Northbound Interstate 5 Overcrossing over Highway 44. The concrete girders need repair after being struck by an oversized load. Emergency repairs were made when the strike happened to ensure structural integrity, but now permanent repairs are being completed. The work began Sunday night and will continue through Thursday, with overnight closures from 7PM to 7AM of the eastbound slow lane of Highway 44, the Southbound I-5 to Eastbound 44 ramp, and the Eastbound 44 to Northbound I-5 ramp. While the job is underway the overhead clearance will be reduced from 14-feet-8-inches to 14-feet-2-inches.
