This year’s Shasta District Fair, last Wednesday through Saturday, had a total of 83,000 paid attendees counted at its gates. That’s 27% more than last year, which saw a big drop from the previous year. There was no fair in 2020 because of the pandemic, but the Junior Livestock Auction was still held thanks to some vigorous lobbying with state health officials by County Health Officer Karen Ramstrom. This year’s Junior Livestock Auction brought in a total of $1.9 Million, which is a drop from last year, which was just over $2 Million. The animals were raised by 4H and FFA students from throughout the district. The numbers have not yet been audited.
