The Fairgrounds in Anderson will be abuzz Friday with 1,100 freshman students of 34 different high schools from 8 Northern California Counties. They’ll be there for the 10th annual science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Career Day. “STEM”-related jobs are growing at a rate more than four times that of other jobs, with a median salary of around $98,000 a year compared to around $45,000 for non-stem related jobs. During the event, students will see presentations from more than 44 businesses and colleges teaching them the skills they need.
