An elderly Redding man and his son have both been implicated in sex crimes against children. In May the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit began investigating 79-year-old Brad Lee Chase on suspicion of sexually assaulting a minor. The alleged victim, a child under the age of 14, told detectives about multiple sexual assaults by Chase. In the course of the investigation, detectives uncovered evidence that Chase’s son, 40-year-old Christopher Lee Brent-Chase, was in possession of child pornography. The men lived together at a home on Irish Creek Lane, where a search warrant was served and both father and son were arrested on Wednesday.
