Fawn Fire Suspect Will Stand Trial In March Of Next Year

The woman accused of starting the Fawn Fire will not make another court appearance until next year. The Fawn Fire was started in the Mountain Gate area in September of 2021. It burned 8,578 acres and destroyed 185 structures. 3 firefighters were injured. 31-year-old Alexandra Souverneva had been declared incompetent to stand trial but that was reversed in April after she returned from a state mental facility. Following date setting last week, Souverneva is set for a settlement conference January 8th and a jury trial March 5th.
