Cal-Fire/Shasta County Fire responded to a structure fire in the Keswick area Tuesday. Located off Keswick Dam Road near Profanity Lane and Nash Road, it was reported shortly after 11AM. It spread to surrounding trees and burned about a quarter acre. Keswick Dam Road was closed for a short time due to fire equipment.
A fire was contained at around one acre off Highway 44 east of Millville Tuesday afternoon. It was reported at around 4:30PM near Cherith Brook Drive and Merrilea Lane about a mile east of the Bear Creek Bridge. It was contained by hand crews after aircraft dropped retardant around the perimeter. There were unconfirmed reports it may have been caused by a blown PG&E transformer.
