A West Redding house was damaged by fire Wednesday afternoon. At 2:20PM Redding Fire Department was called to the house on Skyline Drive off of Sonoma Street. Heavy fire and smoke was seen to the front and rear of the house, and firefighters made an aggressive attack to extinguish the flames. The woman who lived there and her dog had escaped safely and were being cared for by the neighbors. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The value of the damage is estimated at $50,000 to the structure and another $50,000 to the contents.
