A barn was destroyed by fire Wednesday night in Montgomery Creek. The barn near the corner of Highway 299 and Fenders Ferry Road belongs to the old Halcumb Station House that’s well over a hundred years old. Firefighters arrived shortly after 11 O’clock Wednesday night and kept the flames from spreading to surrounding vegetation, but the barn was engulfed in fire.
