A fire broke out Wednesday near Redding Drag Strip east of the runways of Redding Regional Airport. Redding Firefighters along with Cal-Fire engines and aircraft responded at around 12:05PM and forward progress was stopped by 12:30PM. A total of about 6 acres burned. The cause is under investigation.
A fire late Wednesday afternoon off Highway 299 near Lee Road between McArthur and Pittville was held to around one acre.
