A North Redding home was heavily damaged by fire Saturday evening. Redding Fire Department was sent at 8:20PM to a house on Williamson Road off Lake Boulevard. They found the house 75% involved in fire, and with help from Shasta Lake Fire and Cal-Fire crews the fire was contained in about 30 minutes, with another couple of hours for overhaul. Two family dogs died in the fire. The value of the damage to the $350,000 house is estimated at $50,000 to the structure and another $10,000 worth of contents. The cause was determined to be a spark flying out of a fireplace and igniting nearby combustible materials.
