Tehama-Glenn Cal-Fire crews extinguished a vegetation fire in west Cottonwood Sunday afternoon. It started around 3 o’clock off Bowman Road near Luce Griswald Road. Crews protected structures and the fire was contained by 7 o’clock after burning 8 acres of grass, brush and oak woodland.
Meanwhile to the north of there Shasta-Trinity Cal-Fire continued a 175 acre control burn along Gas Point Road near the Veterans Cemetery in Igo.
None of the northwestern California lighting fires have grown in a few days, and they’re all nearing full containment.
