A Shasta County man accused of child molestation has hired a new lawyer after his previous defense quit. 40-year-old Peter Mock, a former Cal Fire Captain, is facing 122 counts of sexual assault against victims under 14-years-old. That number has been going up as additional alleged victims have continued to speak up. 46 of the charges were just added last month. Mock’s trial on the first set of charges was set to begin when his attorney declared he had an unspecified conflict and withdrew. His new attorney was confirmed last week and Mock will return to court December 2nd for new dates to be rescheduled. He remains in jail on $2 Million bail.
