Former Shasta County District Two Supervisor Tim Garman is taking a run at the District 5 seat, challenging Chris Kelstrom in next year’s election. Garman had been elected to the board in the recall of Leonard Moty. His campaign had been funded by the same faction that pushed for the recall. That faction soon found he did not share the same priorities. During his term, redistricting moved the district lines and placed his Happy Valley home in District 5. In announcing his candidacy, Garman says “People are tired of the drama and division. They want their roads fixed, neighborhoods safe and local government that works for them- not against them.”
