A former Sergeant with the Glenn County Sheriff’s Department is accused of stealing money from a homeless man, according to the Corning Observer. 42-year-old John Andrew Sanzone was booked into Glenn County Jail last week for felony grand theft by embezzlement and released on $10,000 bail. In September of last year, Sanzone was placed on administrative leave and later fired after allegations surfaced that, while on duty, he had stolen $3,500 from a homeless man. The victim was going to use the money for dental work. The investigation is being done by the neighboring Colusa County Sheriff’s Office.
