The former Treasurer for the Kool April Nites Organization has made a plea deal for his embezzlement charges. Jeff Allen controlled the books from 2017 to 2022. After he resigned it was discovered that he had redirected nearly $47,000 for his own use. The plea deal was detailed in court Tuesday. Felony embezzlement and grand theft charges were dropped and Allen pleaded guilty to misdemeanor embezzlement. He’s forbidden from serving on boards for non-profits and he must pay back all the money he stole, with $20,000 of it due within 20 days.
