Fred Solanti’s military funeral will take place Tuesday at 11AM at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo. It’ll be followed by a celebration of life at the Anderson VFW Hall on West Center Street, with food donated by Jersey Mike’s and Dill’s Deli. Solanti passed away in November at the age of 75. He started “Welcome Home Vietnam Vets Day” in Shasta County. He also founded the Patriot Guard Riders and the Missing in America Project, which searches morgues all over the country for the unclaimed remains of military veterans, and arranges military funerals for them. Solanti was known to shed tears at every one of the hundreds of funerals he arranged and attended.
