The Good News Rescue Mission has broken ground on their new microshelter community. The shelters were purchased by the City of Redding and some of them are already being used for a transitional housing community established by the United Way off South Market behind the RABA Facility. The Mission’s seventeen tiny houses are being placed on Veda Street behind the Mission. Director Jonathan Anderson says this form of transitional housing is ideal for people who aren’t yet ready to live in close quarters. They should be in place and ready to live in before the onset of Winter weather.
