Hoarding Slows Firefighters Who Find Person Dead After Extinguishing House Fire

Someone was found dead in a early morning house fire in Anderson Thursday. At 2:20AM Anderson Fire Department, along with Cal-Fire and Cottonwood Fire, were sent to a burning home at Pinewood Avenue and Loop Street. They arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the 1600 square foot house and fire visible to the rear. Crews made it into the front door but were slowed down by massive piles of things that apparently resulted from hoarding. While searching the interior firefighters found one person deceased. The flames were knocked down in about 15 minutes. The cause is under investigation. The name of the deceased has not been released.
