Shasta County Second District Supervisor Candidate Laura Hobbs is anything but pleased with the outcome of the election. Hobbs had requested a recount after finishing more than 30 points behind the winner, Allen Long. He got just 14 votes more than half, allowing him to avoid a runoff in the Fall. Hobbs used the public comment period of Tuesday’s Supervisor’s Meeting to cite some of her reasons for doubting the outcome. The recount was set to begin Monday, but Hobbs rescinded her request. She’s hoping her pending lawsuit will initiate a recount.
