Home Destroyed After Electrical Fire In East Redding

An East Redding house was destroyed by fire Wednesday night. Redding Fire Department responded just before 7 O’clock to 2174 Victor Avenue across the street from Redding Christian Fellowship. All 4 occupants had made it out safely but the house was well involved in fire. The flames were knocked down within 15 minutes. Firefighters remained on scene for a couple of hours and Victor Avenue was closed for two-and-a-half hours. Damage to the $300,000 house is estimated at $250,000, as well as $35,000 worth of contents. The cause was determined to be an electrical failure.
