A prison inmate from Shasta County has been captured after walking away from a fire conservation camp. The California Department of Corrections says 30-year-old Casey Lyons left the Prado Camp in San Bernardino County on April 7th. On Monday he was captured by special agents who tracked him to Bullhead City, Arizona. He’ll be extradited back to California to face escape charges. Lyons was imprisoned in 2019 on a five year term for second degree robbery and assault with a deadly weapon as a second striker. He was paroled in 2021 but then busted last year for possession of ammunition. The Department of Corrections says that since 1977, 99% of prison camp walkaways have been captured.
