Intentionally Lit Redding Pallet Fire Spreads To Business

A trailer full of pallets was set on fire in south Redding early Sunday morning, causing extensive damage as the flames spread. At around 5am Redding Fire Department was called to NorCal Transmissions at 5814 Westside Road. The trailer was parked in front of the business with the pallets fully engulfed in flames. The fire spread to the building and also burned through power lines that hung above the trailer, adding to the hazards to firefighters. The fire was under control within about ten minutes. The damage is estimated at $20,000 to the building and another $18,000 to contents. That’s in addition to the damaged power lines and the trailer. Investigators determined the fire had been intentionally set.
