Ishi Fire Camp Inmate Sentenced To Additional 16 Months In Prison

A man who was already an inmate will be imprisoned a bit longer after a run-in with a guard. David Draughn was a state inmate serving time at the Ishi Conservation Camp and returned late for curfew. He reported to a correctional officer, who tried to pat him down, but he refused to cooperate. The officer saw a plastic tube sticking out of Draughn’s waistband and grabbed it, but Draughn grabbed it back and threw it in a nearby toilet. He flushed but the tube would not go down. It was pulled back out but the top was missing and no drugs were found. Draughn was charged with felony battery on a custodial officer and sentenced to an additional 16 months in prison.
