Johnson Officialy Sworn In As Interim Redding City Council Member

Redding Planning Commissioner Joshua Johnson officially became a city councilperson Tuesday night after his appointment by a 3 to 1 vote the previous day. He’s temporarily filling the vacancy until November after Michael Dacquisto stepped down for medical reasons last month. Johnson had been one of three people the council was considering. Kristen Schreder withdrew herself prior to the meeting and Erin Resner withdrew while announcing her intent to run in November for the 2 years remaining in the term. That race will be separate from the two open four year terms up for election. The City Treasurer will also be on the ballot. The nomination period runs through August 9th.
