Jury Finds Man Guilty On Five Felonies After Brutal Beatings Of His Girlfriend

The Shasta County District Attorney’s Office has secured a conviction against a man whose case was nearly dropped permanently due to a court crisis involving a shortage of judges. Last week a jury found Bounjan Inthavong guilty of five felony counts for brutally beating his girlfriend on two occasions. One time he beat her over the head with a metal carafe, causing lacerations requiring staples. Another time he pummeled her with his fists, covering her with big deep purple bruises. Inthavong will be sentenced on November 21st.
